Abstract

Team cohesion has been considered as one of the most important characteristics of a group and can be defined as a tendency of a team to stick together and remain united in the effort of its instrumental objectives and/or the satisfaction of member emotional needs. An important attribute of team cohesion is a dynamics - it's level probably changes over a course of the season.

This assumption hasn't been confirmed in a longitudinal study. The Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ) is an internationally accepted method to measure team cohesion.

It is one of the most utilized instrument but unformtunately factorial structure of the test remains unclear. The main purpose of this study is to conduct a longitudinal study of a team cohesion dynamic in team sports over the course of a season.

A secondary purpose is an intercultural transfer of the GEQ, confirmation of it's factorial validity and creation of a manual for the Czech version.
