Abstract
The dictionary is the first of its kind in Czech language. It summs up tendencies and development of Vietnamese literature from the oldest literary works to the 20th century.
The opening part presents overview of the historic development of literature in the area between India and China. It describes basic tendencies and genres, relations with foreign literatures.
The dictionary has been awarded the best biographical dictionary by the Union of Interpreters and Translators.
