Reflections of reverence of the Name of Jesus in the art of the Society of Jesus

Abstract

This study presents an overwiew of the origins, form, and meaning of the Jesuit sign, which in an abbreviated form expresses the Holy Name Jesus Christ. The author follows its reflections in art, and traces the cult of the name of Jesus in early modern period
