Dialog, selfunderstanding and selfexpression as human ways of being

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2009

Abstract

The article deals with the fundamental characteristics of human existence including the dialogic way of relating to others, to oneself, to the world, but also to what surpasses it. Further, it deals with the need for sympathy and the longing for expression.

It is about three characteristics that are connected with the human ability to speak in Heidegger's interpretation of this concept, which the Greeks called LOGOS. The paper develops the contemplation over these human characteristics and their interconnection in the life of an individual as well as in society.

It tries to point out the significance of paying attention to LOGOS, particularly in psychotherapy, which is based on these premises due to its methods (therapy through words).
