Abstract

A concept of benign fibro-osseous lesions (BFOL) of the jaws is a specific issue of the maxillofacial pathology, which is not mentioned in Czech literature. The correct diagnosis of these pathologic conditions may be difficult because of the relatively rare occurrence of these lesions and also because of insufficient communication between physicians and pathologists.

In this review article the authors present an overview of the benign fibro-osseous lesions of the jaws including their differential diagnosis.
