Abstract
A pellet is a regurgitated mass of undigested prey of an owl. Determining of mammal species found in owl pellets is very popular in schools.
Working with pellets has an atvantage in that it allows determination without the killing and dissection both of small mamals and birds. This determination key compiled by author of this article serves as a research guideline to practical laboratories in vertebratology.
