Abstract
The chapter analyzes the primary sources pertaining to the biography of Shelomo Yitzhaki, called rasi. It aims also at reconstructing a complex picture of the everyday reality surrounding a Jewish scholar in Northern France and Rhineland in 11th - 12th C.
