Macedonian national park Galičica as area for education (in footsteps of Julius Komárek)

Abstract

Slavonic countries of the Balkan Peninsula were favourite travel destination for generations of Czech zoologists in the past. Professor Julius Komárek was one of the pioneers of the exploration of the Balkans.

Prof. Komárek described his adventures in a popular book called The Unknown Macedonia.

Present-day rediscovery trip on locations visited by Julius Komárek nearly a century ago is described in this paper.
