CV of one of the first Czech physicist, who was erudite in radiological physics, is given. He made his postgraduate study at Kaiser Wilhehlm Institute in Berlin-Dahlem at professors L.
Meitner and O. Hahn.
After finishing his doctoral studies he entered upon a career of University teacher at Department of Physics of Technical University in Brno. This was his first opportunity to teach medical students and it appeared to be most important part of his professional life.
In 1950 he became the Head of the Department of Medical Physics of Charles University School of Medicine at Hradec Králové. He worked in this position until 1972, when he retired.
As far as a scientific work is concerned, his name was known all over the world thanks to the measurements of radioactivity of fallout due to nuclear weapon tests. Under his direct guidance, five associate professor of Medical Physics, grew up.
