Abstract
The paper deals with master narratives of Czech historical writings about reform movement of the Prague Spring 1968. It focuses on entanglements between historical and political discourses, relations between historians and politicians and predominance of politics over historiography.
In comparison with German political culture, "1968" was not subject of historical analysis in the Czech public, but historical interpretations of "1968" has been strongly influenced by politics and politicians.
