Based on two project seminars organized by the Institute of Translation Studies (Charles University, Prague), this paper shows the specific features of the so-called team translation. The seminars were aimed at building up the student's competencies in the intercultural interpretation of a literary text, providing them with relevant skills to reflect on and defend one's translation solution.
Thanks to the method of team translation (as expemplified by Mikhail Bulgakov's short stories and Nikolai Gogol's novel Taras Bulba), the students went through all the stages of a translation process from translation analysis to editing and proof-reading of the final version of the target text.
