Abstract
The objective of this article is to briefly describe the possible uses of multilevel and multiprocess models, currently frequently used abroad, on concrete examples in demography. It focuses in detail on the phenomenon of selectivity and the problem of unobserved heterogeneity and points to how they could possibly be taken into account in the models of survival analysis and specifically in the log-linear proportional hazards model.
