Abstract

The study analyzes Winter's major prose at the context of realism and new art movements, which at first concordantly excluded the historical themes from their art conception. The author's stress on the reserved source material from the history of everyday life of the 16th century, surprisingly, converged both with the arguments of the followers of realism and desillusion of the modernists.
