Abstract

The language of literary works written at the eve of the National Revival by Czech literate peasants or artisants in little Bohemian, Moravian and Silesian towns and villages often includes both features of Humanist Czech language and so-called "spoken" Czech. On the example of the text written at the very beginning of the 19th century by František Jan Vavák, the mayor of Milčice village, the author tries to show that the usage of these features was not random.
