The Late Neolithic development on the territory of Zemplín and in adjacent regions

2011

Abstract

The development on the territory of Zemplín in the area of East Slovakian Lowland is closely associated with the territory of Northeast Hungary, and with the adjacent part of Little Poland. Since the knowledge on this part of East Slovakia proceeds from older excavations, it was necessary to put the ceramic material under a detailed analysis and to compare it with current results.

The contribution focuses on a meaningly significant element of decoration, namely on stroked ornaments, which occur at three sites: Ižkovce, Veľké Raškovce and Malé Raškovce.
