Abstract

This chapter describes the structure of broadcasting by RFE. In the first broadcasting period, the station concentrated primarily on analysis of the political situation in Czechoslovakia and criticizing it.

The commentaries by Ferdinand Peroutka and Jaroslav Stránský are particularly well known. Information about life in the West and Catholic and Evangelical missions also played an important role in the broadcasting.

The programm scheme began to change from the 1960's: broadcasting in blocks was introduced and there were more programs for young people, where contemporary western music had an important position.
