In 2008, the European Commission adopted a Green Paper on Territorial Cohesion (European Commission, 2008b) that factually and terminologically enhances the theme of territorial cohesion in the EU. The document poses six broad questions for the improvement of the conditions of territorial cohesion.
This contribution aims to outline, using the Czech Republic as an example, a response to question four that focuses on the assumption to improve territorial cohesion through better coordination between sectoral and territorial policies and improved coherence between territorial interventions (European Commission, 2008b, p.12). The main reason for choosing this question relates to the complex situation in the setting of EU policies in the Czech Republic in 2007 - 2013.
