Abstract
The article examines the process of nuptiality and divorce in urban and rural areas in Slovakia after 1990. Aim of this paper is primarily to analyze and describe the character and changes, which passes through nuptiality and divorce.
For this purpose we compiled the nuptiality life tables for rural and urban population and computed total divorce rate according marriage duration.
