The aim of this thesis is to analyze and evaluate the demographic reproduction of the Roma population in Slovakia. In the first part, attention is focused on analyzing demographic processes as well as selected population structures.
Primarily, we focuse on the description of fertility and mortality. In addition, we analyze induced and spontaneous abortion and health condition of the Roma.
In terms of population structures, our attention turned to the structure according to age, marital status and highest educational attainment. One of the prerequisites to the overall understanding of reproductive behavior is also a characterization of the Roma family.
Based on these findings we prepared a projection of the Roma population in Slovakia for the period of 1981-2030. Thus, the thesis aims especially to point out the changes in the reproductive behavior of the Roma population in Slovakia and its possible development in the future.
