Abstract
The study presents results of a long-term project aimed at the reconstruction of the Lake of Abusir development during the Holocene. The archaeological and geological assessment of the lake deposits attests to its existence during the Old Kingdom when it was used as a major entryway to the entire Abusir and Saqqara necropolis areas.
