Regional and cultural studies on four to five levels: instead of a preface

Abstract

The article gives an introduction to the aims, didactic conception and materials of the text-book "Contrastive regional and cultural studies of Slovakia and the German speaking countries". In this article the minimal aims concerning regional and cultural studies are exemplified on five levels (regional and cultural, contrastive regional and cultural, emphatic, intercultural and intracultural competence).

Further, detailed instructions to use the enclosed text, pictures and audiovisual materials are given.
