The performance of swimmers in Masters swimming

Abstract

The paper focuses on the issues of performance swimming in the Masters category in terms of performance levels in different age groups and disciplines. The results show, that results of the best performances in the youngest category Masters closer to the results swimmers in the top stage in swimming.

Around the period from 50 to 60 years we are seeing a gradual almost linear decrease in performance. After this period, has Masters swimmers performance decreases significantly and depends on the individual training approach of individual swimmers.

Sports history of performance of selected swimmers show, that almost stable level of performance can be purposeful in preparing keep over several categories of masters.
