The article, based on unpublished sources, deals with the transformations of the personnel of the cloisters of Cistercian nuns (above all Upper Lusatia, but taking into consideration also the cloisters of Bohemia) in the second half od 17th and the first half of 18th century, notably from the quantitative point of view, and observes the mechanisms of chosing of nuns and which qualities were important for the candidates of the monastic life.
