Study deals with the situation in catholic church at the turn of 19. and 20. century in Czech lands. It evokes the rise of catholic clergy movement that applies the reform in catholic church - demands above all the democratization of the church, introduction of national sacral language and adjustment of celibacy priesthood.
Motion so called "catholic modernism" was banned by encyclical of pope Pascendi dominici gregis in the year 1907. After the rise of Czechoslovakia in the year 1918, group of former moderns evoked new reformatory motion that finally turned into national church Czechoslovak and into orthodox church in Czechoslovakia.
