Abstract
The article starts from the rooting of Povídky malostranské (Tales of the Little Quarter) in a peculiar environments whose nature rather resembles provincial town life. It focuses on the relation between the double spatial closure of the story of Mr.
Ryšánek and Mr. Schlegl and the communication strategies of the given society and its psychology.
