Abstract
The author puts two important books about the history of the Masaryk University in Brno and its Faculty of Arts (1919-present) into broader contexts of historiography of universities (historiography of European universities, history of universities in the Czech Lands/Czechoslovakia, history of universities in Moravia, history of university in Brno).
