Possible interference of paraprotein in HbA1c determination observed at two diabetic patients

Abstract

We describe two causes of treated diabetic patients with paraproteinemia. In both cases the results of HbA1c show strong discrepancies with clinical statement and wiht plasma glucose concentrations.

HbA1c results were contolled by repeated measurements by other method in other laboratory
