Abstract

Molar-incisor hypomineralization and molar hypomineralization are a qualitative developmental defects of permanent first molars with or without the permanent incisors. Clinically, the lesions of MIH are well demarcated opacities.

Affected teeth are sensitive to thermal and mechanical stimuli and at high caries risk. Treatment is complicated, depending on early diagnosis and severity of the defect.
