Possibilities and Limits of Simultaneous Transcription of Lectures for Hearing Impaired Students in Tertiary Education

Abstract

The paper introduces the readers to the implications of hearing impairment relevant particularly for language, communication and teaching/learning in hearing impaired adolescents in the process of tertiary education. In tertiary education it is crucial to provide a simultaneous, real time transcription of the current lecture, seminar or tutorial to students faced with an acoustical barrier.
