Abstract

The paper introduces the readers to the implications of hearing impairment relevant particularly for language, communication and teaching/learning in hearing impaired adolescents in the process of tertiary education. In tertiary education it is crucial to provide a simultaneous, real time transcription of the current lecture, seminar or tutorial to students faced with an acoustical barrier.
