Abstract
The article aims at discussing some of the most serious problems of the current German-Czech terminography. It predominantly focuses on selection of entries, orthography, provision of equivalents etc. seen from both the metalexicographic perspective and the user's point of view.
Suggested solutions include (a) close co-operation between specialists in respective fields and linguists, especially lexicographers (b) complex language treatment of terminologies based on use of modern corpus-linguistic tools and (c) evolution of dictionaries from printed stand-alone reference works to multifunctional electronic databases (leximats).
