Abstract
The article deals with the lyrical epic poem 'May', published in 1836 by Karel Hynek Mácha, and focuses in particular on the plot structure, the connections between the phonetic-semantic and symbolic-philosophical references and the history of reception and influence of the main work of Czech Romanticism.
