The efforts at the peaceful solution of the ethnic conflicts in South Ossetia and Abkhazia on the eve of the Russo-Georgian war of 2008

Abstract

Focusing on the genesis of the peace process between Georgia and its secessionist territories of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, backed by Moscow, this article is an attempt to illustrate that peace efforts in the period of 1992/1993-2007/2008, on the eve of the Russo-Georgian War of 2008, were bouned to failure.
