Abstract
Side effects of the antipsychotic drugs can influence adherence of patients treated for chronic psychosis, mainly for schizophrenia. Hyperprolactinemia is often asymptomatic at first sight and does not influence a subjective quality of life.
The article summarizes aetiology, clinical features, diagnostic strategies and therapeutic options of hyperprolactinemia.
