Abstract
The overview study draws the attention to the fact that traumatic event need not induce the posttraumatic stress disorder but under some conditions even the positive changes in personality. Study calls attention to different terminology that is used in various studies.
The paper brings near selected models that try to describe both the course of changes and the resulting changes in personality. In the overview presented in a table sums up the main types of traumatic events, in which the posttraumatic growth was empirical studied.
