Sociocultural aspects in vocabulary acquisition

Abstract

The author of this article defines the term of communication success in dialogues between foreign students and patients, deals with the term communication situation and lists steps in taking a patient´s history. Finally, she describes the teaching process in which medical vocabulary is being taught at the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Hradec Králové.
