This paper represents a confrontation of two interpretations, in the field of both philosophy and literary criticism, of Hašek's novel Osudy dobrého vojáka Švejka, the one authored by S Richterová, the other by P. Blažíček, both of them opening two lines of discussion: a/ discussion of possibilities and limits of procedures of interpretation in respect of fictional portrayal of the epochal human position in the world; b/ discussion of that possible portrayed position.
