Abstract
Compliance is defined as an extent of adhering to therapeutic drug regimen. The use of more than 80% of drugs from the prescibed number for a certain period of time is characterized as non-compliance.
Adolescents represent - due to the natural characteristics of this developmental period - a risk group for the development of non-compliance. Similarly to other age groups, in chronic diseases the periods at risk are especially those without symptoms.
The article outlines a survey of forms and factors on non-compliance, methods of evaluation of compliance and their use in pediatric practice.
