Abstract
Teaching text summarizes the overview of the main occupational risks and their possible consequences in influencing the health status of workers - work accidents and occupational diseases. The emphasis has been placed on respect for the principles of safety and health at work.
It presents procedures for the evaluation of work risks and their elimination. It informs about the principles of company preventive care and medical assessment of work ability.
It acquaints with the procedures in the event of a work accident or occupational disease. It summarizes the policies of health and safety at work in the Czech Republic and the EC.
