Abstract
The handbook is designed for municipal authorities on the level of local administration, which strive to meet the government's priorities and which are appreciate the fundamental importance of gender equality for the economic development of the town or village. The handbook is a guide for performing gender audit in public administration, i.e. perception and evaluation of the gender equality policy within a municipal authority.
Audit is focused on improving the performance of the authority and includes an analysis of personal and institutional barriers, which can hinder implementation of gender policy. The handbook can be used also by the non-profit sector for evaluation of implementation of the government's policy on the municipal level.
