Abstract
A significant role in reducing self-sufficiency is played by biological age-included loss of skeletal muscle - involution sarcopenia. It is characterized by decreased musclestrength due to degeneration, atrophy and involution of muscle fibers, reduced synthesis of muscle proteins and jmitochondiral dysfunction.
