Abstract
The applicability of gender theories is shown in relation to the sphere of science in the Czech Republic. At the same time, local specificities are identified in both the organisation of science and gender culture.
The Czech situation os also analyzed in terms of comparison within the EU and between the so called new lands. From all aspects, situation of women in the Czech science apears as the most unequal.
