Authors present the case report of the patient after the non-penetrating abdominal injury with the complication of diffuse purulent peritonitis, which resulted into the life threatening septic status. Signs of enterocolitis occured as soon as on the following day after injury represented by diarrhoea and hypotension with fever.
Patient needed to be operated on. During the operation the purulent peritonitis and paralytic ileus were found, but no perforation of the gastrointestinal tract and no penetration in the area of an injury were present.
Cultivation from the rectal wall revealed the presence of Campylobacter jejuni.The 44th day after the trauma the patient was dismissed home without fever and in good condition.
