Abstract
Within practical classes in Pathophysiology, we record and evaluate in medical students their own physiological parameters. In this way we try e.g. to assess the cardiovascular and pulmonary system adaptation to a physical load during bicycle ergometry.
Data are recorded and stored in Medical Information System (MIS) on a PC workstation. The major advantage of this approach is the possibility to archive results and monitor fulfillment of the practical class tasks.
Students also acquire an experience of working with MIS. MIS offers also of-line processing of experimental data on an off-lab workstation, what gives to a larger group of students the opportunity to undergo the examination during the practical class.
