Abstract
The authors present a general review of the current status of the portal hypertension complications' therapy by means of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). The own outcomes from the fifteen-year period from 1992, when method was introduced in Hradec Králové as a first center in former Czechoslovakia, are presented.
