Abstract
This is the attempt of developing a new theory of the picture based on a new phenomenological description of the body in its life-worldly contexts. The article distinguishes three modes of bodily being: the body of sense, the orientated body, and the body at the borderline.
Particularly the latter one gives the basis to establish a new theory of the picture.
