Principles of vaccination for experts in gynecology and obstetrics. (HPV and cancer of cervical uterus)

Abstract

Immunization against papilomaviruses as cause of cervical cancer is one of the most effective prevention instruments. Vaccine is applied as basic schedule as three doses vaccine and brings long term protection.

The target groups for immunization are young girls in age cohort 11-13, before start of their sexual life and thus the first papilomavirus infection.
