Abstract

In this work we immunohistochemically detected apoptosis markers neoepitope M30 and activated caspase 3 in long-term three-dimensional cultures of WRL-68 cell line (fixed in 10% formalin and embedded into paraffin) with the aim to determine the type of cell death of cultured elements. According to our results, it is not possible to determine exactly the type of cell death using only immunohistochemical detections of specific apoptosis markers and the examination of cell ultrastructure in transmission electron microscope plays a key role in cell death research.
