Abstract
The text of the chapter discusses the nature of institutions in the perspectives of functional and value-based paradogms, as well as by the research outcome of sociology and political sciences. The forms ofIinstitutional changes in modern societies are outlined.
A specific methodological approach for the instituional analysis is proposed.
