Culture as vehicle and opponent of political intentions: cultural contacts between Germans, Czechs and Slovaks

Abstract

Culture has always been an instrument and medium of politics but also a way to put political decisions into perspective: to enforce politcal actions, to evade political pressure or to protest against political measures. This volume presents a variety of example from the German-Czech-Slovak context, ranging from the fine arts to everyday culture.
