Abstract
The collective monograph deals with the fundamental importance of the General Civil Code. From a historical point of view was not only the foundation of civil law in the Habsburg monarchy until its demise, but remained in Austria, as amended, effective until the present day.
We proceeded according to him until about the mid-20th century and its importance continues from the current perspective. This is especially shown in the monograph on how the general civil code inspired just accepted a new Civil Code.
